Christos Passas

Christos Passas, associate director at Zaha Hadid Architects, presented details of the Beko masterplan at panel during Belgrade Design Week 2014.

Zaha Hadid, founder of Zaha Hadid Architects, was awarded the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2004 and is internationally known for both her theoretical and academic work. Each of her dynamic and innovative projects builds on over thirty years of revolutionary exploration and research in the interrelated fields of urbanism, architecture and design. Hadid’s interest lies in the rigorous interface between architecture, landscape and geology as her practice integrates natural topography and human-made systems, leading to experimentation with cutting-edge technologies. Such a process often results in unexpected and dynamic architectural forms. 

Christos Passas has worked with the firm since February 1998 and as Design Director he has lead numerous projects and winning competitions, including most notably the Sterling Prize nominee, the Phaeno Science Center Wolfsburg, completed in November 2005. The Phaeno was nominated by the Guardian Newspaper as one of the 50 best buildings of the 20th century, together with the Sidney Opera House, the Fallingwater the TWA terminal and others.

Recently completed the Dominion Tower for Peresvet Group in Moscow, to high public acclaim which was nominated as one of Moscow's 5 most beautiful buildings. And Best Office Atrium winner 2016, by Next Office.

Currently, Christos is in charge of the Opus for OMNIYAT Properties a unique mixed use project, housing a boutique hotel for Meliá group.

Recently, has successfully directed the competition design of an innovative Technopark Scheme for Russia's Sberbank, that features trend setting new logics to the organization of office culture.
